February 8th - Day 39
When one gives one's life to Truth, one becomes surrendered or helpless in the sense that one's life is no longer one's own. There are still thoughts that one is leading one's life but there is also the knowledge that thoughts are always after the fact, although they appear to be before the fact. It seems that we have a thought and then act but in actuality we act and then have the thought. To be precise, Truth acts through us but we think we are doing it. We could say that everything is backwards or reversed from what it seems to be. It is a sort of sleight of hand, a trick. When we begin to catch a glimpse of this trick, we begin to relax because we know that we never were in charge of anything; it was always an illusion.
