July 30th - Day 211
There is that which I call the "essential experience." The essential experience is that moment of nothingness. It is that moment of no-thing-ness - no family, no god, no world, no experience. It is akin to deep dreamless sleep. It cannot be reviewed by the mind because the mind was absent, thus it could not participate. It cannot be recaptured or sought after or pleaded to a god for, because it can't be gotten in any way. It is a gift, a gift to itSelf. We cannot try to do it or have it again because we had nothing to do with receiving it in the first place. It comes to the beggar, as well as the rich man, the dying, as well as the healthy, the tyrant, as well as the saint. It is a mystery.
