When something happens that the mind cannot explain or understand (such as a break in time or a gap in consciousness) it quickly reformulates what happened into an explanation, thus preventing what we sometimes call Miracles from being assimilated. Miracles begin to dissolve the mind because they cannot be understood and it is the mind's mission to turn Miracles into explanations.
